British Alternative Folk musician Ollie Dixon announces the debut of his latest single, 'Byegone’ - to be released worldwide on 12th June 2024.  This is the first single release from his forthcoming EP, Rebirth.  Byegone heralds the beginning of a fresh phase for the artist hailing from the South-West. Known for blending atmospheric reverb and warm, delayed tones, crafting a sound that is unique and unmistakably his own.

Inspired by the likes of RY X, Novo Amor, Sufjan Stevens.  Ollie Dixon has become a staple in the South West music scene cultivating a beautiful, distinctive soundscape within his music but also rich, captivating music videos that showcase coastlines and inspiration he considers home.

Singles from Ollie's debut EP ‘Islands’ featured on Spotify’s Editorial playlists ‘Fresh Finds Folk and New Music Friday, securing number 1’s in the iTunes chart in Norway & The Netherlands and selected by BBC Introducing in the South West as their ‘Hotly Tipped’ track of the week and selected by Absolute Radio as their ‘self released artist of the month’ in July 2023 with St Agnes.

‘His music exudes a certain class.  It’s a beautiful recording, done so well and it’s a really fantastic performance.  It’s a genre that many people do but not everyone pulls off to this standard. It stood out to me as soon as I heard it’

Danielle Perry - selected as Self Releasing Artist of the Month On Absolute Radio

In addition to selling out a debut headline show at the Exeter Cavern, Ollie began touring the U.K & Northern Ireland selling out shows in London, Brighton, Bristol and Cornwall, Including multiple sold out headline shows for Sofar Sounds in England and Belfast.

In the winter of 2023/24 Ollie headed to a remote studio in Cornwall to start work on the 4th EP, Rebirth. Starting the recording process of it for the 4th time, after re-writing it 5 times. Taking time away from recording music, touring and everything industry related, with the intention on not returning to music Ollie ended up re-writing the whole EP we had already recorded. Byegone will be the first track off the upcoming EP, Rebirth. Planning release for the end of 2024.

Coming out of a comfort zone, Wanting to push our boundaries on what we call "Cinematic ambient folk" Blending our ambient acoustic, guitars drenched in reverb with drum samples rather than conventional drums, layers of violins and arpeggiated synths, a whole new direction for Dixon personally but a path he's been wanting to explore for a while and Byegone was the first song Ollie, Lee and newest member, Leonie Prater (Violin) started to experiment with.

" I’m really excited about sharing this one, It feels like an expansion of my previous work and maturity as a musician, we all worked so hard to explore new tones of sound and production ideas, while retaining the rawness and honesty of the song. It's taken 4 years to write this track. 6 different versions, 23 mixes, 4 different producers.. it's been a real challenge but it was all worth it. Ive never been more proud of a song before and Byegone is the start of a whole new path musically. Shaping the sound of the rest of the EP."  - Ollie Dixon

“Everything slows and the otherworldliness is emphasised as enigmatic sounds drift into play. This is a track that can genuinely be called evocative”
